The National Marine Sanctuary Webinar Series The National Marine Sanctuaries Webinar Series provides educators, students, and the interested public with educational and scientific expertise, resources and training to support ocean and climate literacy. This series generally targets formal and informal educators that are engaging students (elementary through college) in formal classroom settings, as well as members of the community in informal educational venues (e.g. after school programs, science centers, aquariums, etc.). 

NOAA Planet Stewards Archived Webinars These are selected archives of presentations given by scientists, educators, and communicators to the NOAA Planet Stewards’ community. In November 2017 the NOAA Climate Stewards Education Project changed its name to NOAA Planet Stewards to reflect the program’s expanded scope of understanding and protecting the environment including decreasing marine debris, and conserving and restoring natural resources. We continue our programmatic emphasis on climate as a driver of environmental impacts to humans and natural ecosystems.

Spanning Time and Spatial Scales: Modeling Our Planet’s Climate  Keith Dixon, a research meteorologist and climate modeler at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory discussed how scientists develop and use climate models to understand how our planet’s global climate system works, and how models can help us answer questions relevant to society. 

Using Simple Models in Climate Change Education During this presentation Dr. Randy Russell, a science educator at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) explored some fundamental concepts of climate science that allow students to use simple models to actively investigate them.
