OneSTL Sustainability Lab – Geospatial Technology and Sustainability
May 31 @ 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm
3:30 – 4:30 Panel Discussion
4:30 – 6:30 Open House and Networking in the 5th Floor Lounge at T-REX
Have you heard? Recently, St. Louis has become a hub for geospatial activity. You can read more about it from various sources including NPR, Greater St. Louis Inc., and St. Louis American. Or… you can come to the next Sustainability Lab at T-REX on Tuesday May 31. We’ll be talking with local experts on what geospatial technology is, what it means to St. Louis, and how we can tap into those resources for our sustainability work and projects.
A panel of experts will describe geospatial technology and explain their work with it. Then we’ll have a discussion about sustainability-related issues and projects to see where they overlap and where our two spheres of interest can collaborate. The panel will be:
- Tony Nguy-Robertson, R&D Scientist at National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency with a specialty in quantitative remote sensing of vegetation and aquatic systems.
- Randy Pearson, Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, professor of remote sensing and digital image processing, Geographic Information Systems, physical geology and geography.
- Bryan Raymer, Account Manager at Esri, an international supplier of geographic information system software, web GIS and geodatabase management applications.
- John Ross, Agile Engineering and Geospatial Lead at 1904labs, helping individuals and organizations develop software and data solutions to hard problems.
