Making Art Out of Invasive Bush Honeysuckle

October 19 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Dale Dufer talks about why he makes art out of invasive bush honeysuckle, how he uses art to strike up conversations about conservation and nature, and shares his story of cultivating creative partnerships to help raise awareness.

Bush Honeysuckle – It’s EVERYWHERE! “Think About Tables” uses strengths of the plant itself to build ecological awareness and invasive species action. St. Louis artist and woodworker Dale Dufer invites you into “fun with sticks” as a way to explore resourceful solutions. Local eco-advocate Jean Ponzi assists. Dufer’s Think About Tables workshops took root in 2016, sprouted the 2018 Trial of Bush Honeysuckle at St. Louis Old Courthouse, and recently flowered into MEEA’s Invasive Species Mock Trial Curriculum!
